Bwahaha. Finished off the rough first draft of my novel today, with a grand total of 31,394 words, which is a little more than I was expecting :) It's going to need to be about twice that come the end of my PhD, but I have four years until then... and plenty of places to go with it from this foundation, I think. Gonna have to go through and fix continuity errors, re-work bits and pieces, add things, tweak things, all that junk... squeeze some more words out and see what happens...
Meanwhile! Some of you lot might be interested in a possible tour featuring both Steve Vai and Emilie Autumn. Unfortunately it probably wouldn't make it to Australia (though you never know), but it would make the US and Europe.
The story is thus. Steve Vai, one of the world's greatest Progressive Metal guitarists and a frequent star of G3, is looking for a violinist to join him on his next tour. Given that Emilie is very much the Yngwie Malmsteen of violin, I suggested the union of their talents to both of them on Myspace. Emilie responded that she has already been approached by Vai, and depending on her own touring schedule, we'll see what happens.
Why should you care? Well, Emilie fans should care because this would get her onto the forthcoming Steve Vai live album, and get her a lot of exposure... not to mention you all get more music to listen to. Vai fans should care because Emilie's the best damn choice for the job! SO. Anyone who would like to see this happen - and we know Emilie is good at listening to her fans - I suggest you show your support by commenting or messaging to these lovely musos on Myspace. I'll even link you.

In other news, we have post production next Monday, and we even have a time: at 1, and at Allan's house, obviously.
